New advertiser - SVP Porsche

Post by Bootsy »

A warm DDK welcome to SVP Porsche who have taken a banner on the forum (I appreciate those using Firefox to view aren't seeing the banners - I am sorting this out)

A few words by way of introduction

Based just off the M5 at Droitwich in Worcestershire, Specialist Vehicle Preparations maintains all Porsche models from classic 356 to the modern era. Its four-man team of top-level mechanics gives the business over 100 years of experience to draw upon.

New to the business from April 2013 is fabricator Mike Evans, who trained with Toyota Motorsport GB before leading the project development and metalwork teams at Nissan UK Motorsport. Mike’s first projects for SVP include an FIA build on a 1965 Porsche 912 and SVP’s first Porsche Cayman racecar.

Former SVP feature cars include the first FIA-papered Jagermeister 934 recreation, and a backdated 3.6-engined impact bumper car running modern air conditioning. Two 935 builds are in progress, and SVP is about to complete a bare-metal 911E Sportomatic restoration, to original specification. The car is available for inspection in the SVP workshop.

A specialist apprenticeship in transmissions puts SVP owner Dominic Delaney top of the list for simple transmission overhauls, bespoke gearbox builds or Limited Slip Diff installations. Porsche engines and transmissions are rebuilt in the on-site engine room.

Servicing and common operations including clutch changes are carried out to menu prices. Covered collection and delivery is available. SVP also sells Porsche cars, specialising in well-maintained daily drivers.

SVP has developed many unique Porsche parts ranges: everything from plastic arch liners for classic 911s, to big brake kits, lightweight bumper mounts and custom exhausts. The latest offering is a coilover suspension kit to replace torsion bars in classic 911s. Developed in association with Germany’s KW Suspension, this product is exclusive to the Worcestershire Porsche specialist.

They keep popping up at the side of my screen when I'm on Friendface. Loving pretty much all of their hotrod builds.

I have a set of their arch liners in my SC. Stops all that crud getting in behind the kidney bowls & headlights etc. No drilling required, lightweight and easy enough to fit (once you get your head around which one's which), couldn't ask for more than that really.

They are close to me so will drop-in when going down that way.
With the sad loss of Bob Watson someone competent needs to fill the Midlands gap.

Dom's the man, he and his quality team have done all the work on my car bringing it back from a rusty heap to the solid, reliable machine it is today. In fact just today I have left it in the capable hands for some tweeks. I live just outside Edinburgh and will travel the 300 miles to SVP without hesitation, they are that good.

A link to some photos of work done.
