Collecting Porsche books

Post by DeRRis »

Hi all

I've been buying books about porsche for some years now and in those years have gathered a modest collection. Now on DDK I've seen threads about almost anything and also some about porsche's  But I've yet to see a thread about motoring books and especialy Porsche books. So I thought I'd give it a start.

Good idea!

I've probably got about 160 motoring related books, and a quick count showed around 20 directly concerned with Porsche. I've got the new Ludvigsen (Origin of the Species) on the Christmas list too - and I don't suppose I'm the only one here.

Hi Charles, I've just got Origin of Species from www.motorbooks.co.uk. They had some copies signed by the Mr Ludvigsen. Very nice indeed

Origin of the Species is a great book.
The Mailander book Ludvigsen produced not so long ago is great as well, lots of photos you won't see anywhere else.

A selection of mine:

The Chris Harvey is the first Porsche book I can remember buying, in around 1982.

I do also have a copy of Excellence was Expected, smuggled in from a trip to the US when it was around $150 on Amazon.com.

Thanks. I know some people who run a business selling motorsport books, and in exchange for writing some reviews I get access to the trade price :-)
