Has any got any experience of boring out weber venturis. Mine are 32 mm and I need 36's . It looks straight forward to me just to take 2 mm from all the internal features ?

Re: Boring out weber venturis
I think the weber venturies are die cast so thin walls. You might break through when machining.
New billet ones are available in many dia's from PMO, about $100 + all the taxes etc. so about £100 the set.

Hi Andy, we have machined them before so just give me/Stuart a call. Or we could just make some for you, no problem.

Ok, thanks since machining is an option I'll check wall thickness make a few calls and fire up the lathe....

Re: Boring out weber venturis
I made a special turning tool which took the whole top side at a time, then I drove all 6 directly without touching the radial depth. Then I broke the new long straight through the old slope

Re: Boring out weber venturis
Job done , found out that the castings are thicker the smaller the venturi. Simple to machine bore and then angle end of radius to 40 mm ID at bottom of venturi. I took a chance on a distinctly non standard 35 mm since by empirical evidence 36 is too big and 34 too small. Time will tell.
