912/6 Project - here we go again!

Post by KS »

Bit premature really, but getting all excited. :bounce:

Just doing a deal to buy a '66 912 minus engine from a friend in the USA. It's a rot-free, never-hit, three-gauge car, with terrible paint, worse interior but, like I say, no rot, anywhere. Zilch. (EDIT July 2013 – if only I had known...) Door gaps and panel alignment in general very good. Plan is to create a budget 'sport purpose' kinda deal, probably with 911SC motor on carbs, steel wheels or???, lightweight interior... We'll see. I already know the colour!

Already has Bilsteins all round, Weltemeister bars back and front and a decent set of flat sixes.

Beetle heading to a new home, it's engine to another. Here we go again. Not giving too much away at present until it's safely in my hands! :drunken:

Looks good Keith, I'm sure we'll all be expecting a good build thread with plenty of pics :) You know how we all like pics

Sweet...looking forward to watching this happen...bet you don't know that your old black and red car was part of the inspiration behind my never ending project when I saw it at a Bulieue (do you spell that !!!) New Forest Porsche show.
