I like gold on a 911, shame you don't see many.
I guess most were re-painted as fashions changed.
Porsche's gold is a 'good' gold, nice and yellow. Probably about 24 carats.
Here's one I saw at Hilton Head a few years back, was in fantastic condition...

If one is going to be best in class one had better be right, but the paint detailing around the door panels is wrong, it should have about 10 - 15 mm of satin black, so that when the door is closed you can't see body colour on the inside.
I tried to buy a '73 ,911 s, targa exact colour in 1974 .............belonged to an Australian who lived in Stanley , Hong Kong.......looked brilliant .............pound moved the wrong way and i was sent back to London before i cud close the deal!
Christ, I would be well miffed off if that short dark haired model in the golden bikini splashed all that petrol over my car when she was filling it up!
