356/912 alternator conversion kit

Post by rocket280 »

This kit contains all the components needed to convert your 356 or 912 to run with a brand new 12v alternator with built in voltage regulator. All 356 and 912 models come with a dynamo with a separate regulator and most 356s run with a 6v system. The advantage of this kit is that you can convert your old 6v system to run with a modern style 12v alternator. The benefits of this are plain to see with better lights, starting and you can run a modern stereo. Also the alternator you get with this kit is not a reconditioned unit but a brand new item so you will also have the piece of mind of a reliable charging system. The kit includes a 55a alternator, fan hub, fan hub spacer. fan backing plate. alternator stand, securing strap, wiring connections and instructions. If you have an early style 356 engine with a flip top style filler can you will also need the specially made adapter plate shown in the pictures. Please contact me if you need this as this will cost an extra £20. All the components for this kit have been custom made to adapt this modern style alternator to work with this engine. If you have any questions regarding this kit please let me know This item is also available for local pick up from watford, herts or crawley, west sussex. I originaly made 10 kits for sale but now have 6 left and when they are gone they are gone as I will not be producing anymore in the future. The kit costs £320. Or if you already have an alternator and do not want the one with the kit it will be £230. postage in the uk will be £16 If you have any other questions about the kit please contact me

I'm now down to my last 2 kits. I've sold a few in the US, one to a guy in Australia and the rest in the UK. I may do another batch in the future but have no plans to do any more at the moment. contact me if you would like one.

Hi Jason how does the kit compare to the one sold by Emory Motorsport - same/similar components.

Thanks Michel
