Details
I have had the Engine rebuilt by Carrera Performance (Approx 2k miles ago) which included New rings, heads rebuilt
I have replaced most of the CIS components, injectors, fuel accumulator, air bypass valve, Air Box, rubber seals and gaskets, replaced the leads for magnacor, New Bosch coil.
It has early type SSIs, and SS backbox.
It has Turbo cam covers, Hydraulic tensioners.
It has an after market oil cooler which has been replaced recently. Tappets have been adjusted last week. The engine has no leaks. The engine is extremely strong and flies. I have always felt the 2.7S was misunderstood. It is a great sounding fast car!
The suspension, has been rebuilt and lowered. Bilstein sports shocks all around, new OE anti roll bar bushes, and Swing plate bushes (inc 1 new Swing plate)
Wheels are original 15" 7J Fuchs with polished centres/rims, shod with brand new Pirelli P7s (205/60/15)
Brakes - fronts have recently been rebuilt with new discs, rears were done approx about 3-4k miles ago
Interior is very clean, however a few bits of trim need a little attention. It has a period Momo Porsche option steering wheel which is great. I have yet to see another the same wheel. It has AC venting, however I have removed all of the AC componentry. The AC fan works a treat
The history file is huge and fascinating, it has over 100 reciepts including correspondence with Bruce Anderson and a previous owner, correspondence with Porsche, shell etc. The car won a PCGB concours prize back in the 90s. Alot of work was done by Bob Watson (he has a Picture of the car on his workshop wall)
My objective was always to get the car running, handling and stopping well before painting. I have been in two minds whether to get these bits done before selling. The car is otherwise extremely solid, most of the body work was done by the previous owners. These cars are pretty rare now I searched for approx 2 years to find a car in good condition with a strong history.
To be perfect the car could do with a respray. It had a full bare metal respray approx 10 years ago, but some bubbles have appeared where they had been previously.
The car has always cherished, I have owned it 5.5years and covered approx 4500miles in that time it has been garaged, and used predominately on dry runs…..apart from being caught out on the LeMans Classic 08 run!!
It is a great driving car that makes me smile every time I drive it. Sad to see it go! Definitely a rarity now!
ASKING - £13,000 (Open to offers both below and above the asking price!!) Please send me a PM if interested.
