Due to other projects it looks like I have to say goodbye to my lovely targa, which I have owned for the past 3 years.
Shipped to Hong Kong in 1973 and stayed on the island with 1 Chinese owner and one ex pat until being shipped back to the UK in 1999 by its former keeper, mileage is a genuine 48,000 from new, quite a bit of history (In Chinese) and quite a bit in English.
Car was originally finished in Chartreuse but now in Irish Green metallic, it looks great in the current guise, however if you were to return it back to its original colour it would be the only UK 73 Targa sportomatic in this colour (5 worldwide) so I have been told... It is currently undergoing a gearbox overhaul with Berny Tester (known to most DDK members as the sportomatic guru).
Bad Points
From 10 yards looks amazing, however it will require a re-paint and some very minor bodywork, will need kidney bowl on one side and floor section on the otherside. The interior is very good but will require both door pockets.
Good Points
Perfect to use as it is and make it a rolling restoration.
A great basis for a relativley easy restoration. It drives very well and performs perfectly, no engine or gearbox gremlins, could be quite a rare and special car in the right hands.
As I can't seem to load any pictures please e-mail in the first instance and ill happily send you photos of car from every angle.
The gearbox work and service should be completed and back with me in London by early September for viewing.
