Journey Home and first impressions

Post by TheBaron »

Hi All

Had a great journey back from Roger Brays, arrived at around 12.00 to see my new born all shiny and sleek, looked amazing, the white number plates really setting the car off.

Roger showed me all around and then I was off, a friend had very kindly drove me down in his 1971 911s.

First impressions, very tight, not rattles, felt like a brand new car, which i suppose it is.

Lots of power, great stopping ability with no fade over the journey.

We stopped at a little pub with a car park outside so we could sit an admire our cars(come on, we all do it, dont we?)

Good cruising on motorways between 80-90 very comfortable indeed, I wasnt really sure if this could be used for an every day car, but i am in no doubts now.

Had one more stop at the motorway service station, went for a Costa Coffee to be confronted upon our return with about 10 people surrounding my car and taking photos, I know what brad pit feels like now.

One guy who was chatting away new Roger and had infact had a car renovated by him, he had since sold it but he said i have spurred him on to get another as he was totally smitten.

My mate was getting a little miffed as his car was getting no attention, he has grown to love the 356 and yesterday, exactly a week after i picked mine up he has found a 1957 Coupe outlaw and bought it, it comes complete with a shrunken skull attatched to the mirror it really is a true outlaw.

He is selling his 911 if anyone is intersted

No doubt you will see his 356 on here and at shows, here is a pic of our stop at the service station.

It looks fabulous and reminds me that I was looking for another 356 when I got sidetracked into a 911. I am jealous but very happy for you.
