1962 356 BT6 *SOLD*

Post by Hendrik Moulds »

As mentioned in the 356 section of the forum after 8 years of ownership I am going to have to part with my 356 B.

This car is a genuine UK RHD coupe with orginal super 75 engine and gearbox, heron grey with black upholstery. Over the past few years I have spent thousands of pounds restoring the body back to original condition including new bonnet, nose, battery box, sills, longitudinals rebuilt/new doors etc and have many receipts, invoices and photos of the work done. In fact I have just worked out I have £9k of invoices for panels and parts alone for this car!

Please check out the link to my thread in the restoration section: http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13551. There also photos of the finished car at the end: http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewto ... c&start=60

I have also had work done to the engine, photo on page 5 of the restoration thread: http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewto ... c&start=60 but as any 356 enthusiast knows the body is the most expensive and difficult part to restore!
Just to prove it hasn't spent all it's time in the bodyshop I have also attended many events in this car, including 356 internationals in Brighton, France, Belgium, Italy and Denmark.

If you have any specific questions or want photos of any particular part of the car, please let me know. Car is now at Gmund Cars, call them on 01423 797989.

Have been away in France on a "normal" holiday so I thought I would add a bit about the work done on the engine.
The work was done over last winter and included rebuilding the heads (including new valve seats), rebuilt fuel pump and correct distributor, all the tinware and engine case were cleaned and powder coated/CAD plated. Some of the tinware was replaced due to damage/rust. The inside of the engine was thoroughly cleaned and know runs consistantly below half way on the temperature gauge.
PR Services did all the work so if you want to have a word with Paul I'm sure he'd be happy to talk to you.
