Caen group route

Here's the first part of the route I'm suggesting.

The Caen ferry docks at 7.30 (french time) . . . so add a couple of hours . . . about 9.30 - 10am. But this assumes we don't come across a great place for breakfast along the way I suppose.

La Foret Auvray 'appears' to have somekind of hill climb event (is there another La Foret Auvray somewhere? - can anyone find the actual hill climb road?). Look's like it's been used since the 60's - 70's.

Tim and I and a few others are going to Le Harve so if you guys give us a few mins we would try and catch up with the main group would be great

That is a very similar route to the one that I used 2 years ago, great scenery and lovey small country lanes

By studying this very slow descent of the climb at Foret Auvay, I think I've worked out where this hill decent/climb is.

The hill climb looks to be the ascent up the D21 which loops to the east befor La Forêt-Auvray

Brendan,

Short answer is no. I did suggest alternatives about 25kms further West (which are on other threads), but to keep things simple it's probably best we avoid eachother

. If the groups feel different . . .it can change.

Obviously individuals can swap over / meet as there wish / go what route they want. My number is 07941 299 593 if anyone wants to know where the Caen group is - my girlfriend Helen will probably pick up.

For the Caen group . . . . I will have maps to hand out at/on the ferry (or when ever you grab me). My plans of uploading Tom Tom routes, creating a PDF, tulips maps etc have gone to pot. . . . . . . so expect a detailed map which the route highlighted on it.

It will be fine trust me.

The key thing is to navigate around Caen succesffully (which at 8am with a poor nights sleep - isn't easy). Remember to get off at junction 11 onto the D562, then at Laize -La-Ville, head on the D132 to Bretteville S-Laize.

Here's a route map of this very first stage (but it might actually just confuse).

Phil, I've converted the original route you posted before into a TomTom itinerary was thinking of posting that if anyone was interested in it.

If you've done the rest of the route I'd be happy to finish it off and post it up. But I'm just as happy with a good old fashioned map.

TomTom Route welcome here too - we'll probably get left behind as we are not planning to drive too spiritedly with George on board
