1957 356A Coupe Porsche Restored Sale Postponed Apologies

Post by Bathtub57 »

We have been moved to Singapore (RHD Only!) and my wife wants me to buy a flat in Dubai so the 356 has to go to fund it. The car has been restored by Porsche in Dubai. Anyone who is seriously interested should contact me to discuss. Shipping to UK (or anywhere else for that matter) from Dubai is not a problem. Car is silver with red leather.

It has taken me 2 years of blood sweat and tears to restore this car and it will break my heart to part with it.

In my experience people who are interested 'get serious' by being lured in with details, pictures and prices rather than "I'm not going to mess about with you if your not".

Bet there are hundreds of us on here who have been turned on by a for sale ad that they were not expecting to buy and ended up with the car.

Might have been interested myself but have nothing to go on in the ad and don't want to be seen as not serious so won't waste your time.

Looks a beautiful car though.

Food for thought.

Build up was concise on this with close attention to detail - Porsche rates too - so not cheap I assume, but how much not cheap then?

The cars up for 30k, don't think I'd get as much for the missus!

Yes tricky to view although a weekend in Dubai isn't the end of the world, I'm sure that it would go in Dubai but wanted to offer to the forum first as a lot of people have seen the work that's gone into the car. The paint and body is top rate. I don't want to think about the cost that's gone into it, but it's been fun.

Sorry to all interested parties - as I may have mentioned I am trying to locate a new fuel pump as the one fitted has sprung a leak, without this the car cannot be tested and thus cannot be finished.

Additionally we cannot fit the rear bumper trim.

Aside from that all is good and we are looking to complete end of April when I will re-post.

Apologies once again.

I have to say the car is worth looking at. The work has gone into it..

A weekend in Dubai is well worth it also.. The car is in a garage not far from all the main hotels. A taxi ride away. like a five..

Good luck Mark I know how much this has upset you, esp when your so close to getting it finished.

Hi,

I maybe very interested in your car, I was looking to get one for UK use. I live at moment in Saudi and get to Dubai often so can view the car. I maybe relocating to Abu Dhabi, could be a fun car to have, have you got AC in the car?

Neil (and anyone else for that matter) may view the car whenever you wish. As soon as fuel pump sorted I'll be ready to sell, just in time to get to the UK, Europe or the US for the summer shows.

Have found one 356 owner here in Singapore - I would possibly consider px on a RHD 356 (+/- cash) Beetle or early 911 for export to Singapore.

Cheers

Mark

ps No A/C but have contact in Dubai and Singapore that can supply / fit quite simply - these guys know what they are at with A/C and it's a quite common retro fit in Beetles here in Singapore and parts can be adapted to fit.
