My '67 912 is fitted with a not very attractive wooden gearknob at the moment. Ideally I'd like to find a period-correct version which, I believe is a plain black plastic one. They seem to sell for a vast amount of money so I am contemplating making my own(!). However, in order to do this, I firstly need to get hold of one in order to make a mould. This process does not damage the gearknob in any way so does anyone have a spare that they would consider loaning out for a few days?!
Odd request I know, but if I can make a good mould then there would be the opportunity to make a handful in case anyone else is interested...
