Thanks a million for the day Barry - I really really enjoyed it. I may not have the space at the moment to follow it through (garage full of woodworking stuff and very combustible wood) but I will definately take it further. I was totally amazed at what you can do with metal, a hammer, and an old slapper

I've told Suzanne I'm going to do some metal sculpture - that worked and she's quite happy(?) about the welding idea. I've just got to sell the woodworking tool and make the garage less of a fire hazard.

I had an absolutly brilliant day, Very big thanks to Barry for letting us in and playing with his tools.
I tried to soak in as much info as possible and already I have been pricing up my next order from frost so I can do some more practicing. I never knew that some of the shapes and curves are so easy to re-create with only a set of hammers and an old slapper!

Also very nice to meet some like minded DDKer's and put faces to the names.

And the best bit, it's all for charity!

Just got back from todays session

Started off with an awesome drive down in the sunshine in the 914.

I had a feeling this would be unmissable, and how right I was. A truly fantastic & well organised day, I feel so much more confident in tackling this kind of stuff myself now.

An invaluable education from our top man Barry. A massive thank you for organising this... now to order some tooling

Thanks for a brilliant day - very informative. You have unravelled the mystery surrounding welding & metal fabrication.

It is truly amazing what a skilled hand can do with £25 of tools and an old slapper

My wife was not so impressed with my souvenir, but I am very proud of my convex flange!

Great to meet other DDKers too.
Now I need to clear the garage and get tooled up.
