Hi guys. If you ordered on Monday, your knob went in the post earlier today and is on it's way to you. Apologies for the unsexy recycled packaging, but I need to whittle-down of my burgeoning collection of used padded envelopes somehow

To chaps that ordered earlier today, I'll post these Wednesday morning.

On my short shifter stick, I cut some notches with a hacksaw and used Epoxy adhesive. Worked well, just be careful with the amount you use - too much and it'll squirt out the bottom and it stains the wood.

For days now I've been looking forward to getting my knob in the post and it finally happened this morning (the local postoffice was unable to help yesterday morning as they said the postie still had my knob on him).

I'm sat here with my knob in my hand and I'm delighted - beautifully made and can't wait to see if it will fit the shaft.

Just a note on fitting it onto a G50. After all my brave talk about tapping this and that, I found there wasn't a great gap to be filled anyway. So I just wrapped masking tape around the shaft until it was slightly too think, and then squeezed it on. It's nice and secure and totally reversible (I feel a wevo shifter in my future and want to be able to re-use it on that).

The knob feels nice to use. I've chosen not to treat it with anything at the moment as the oils from my hands will give it a nice patina. However I may put a bit of danish oil on it when I get a chance - that soaks in nicely (as opposed to varnish that forms a barrier that can be chipped/broker) and isn't too shiny.
