I've booked 'The Cottage' as well. When we have final numbers, we'll need to make sure we can book for food. The owner of The Cottage suggested we book early as places to eat in the area are very popular on a Friday night.

Barry - I'm assuming you'll be providing 6 "barn find" original 911's so that each of us have our own car to work on. Just in case you're having our individual welding machines individually monogrammed, my middle initial is "A", and I prefer gold leaf
 Yes, the least I could do really   . I'm just hoping the individually tailored overalls turn up in time :? .

Currently raiding the neighbours garden seating for the 'class room' and sourcing a reserve MIG welder, just to be on the safe side.

O.K. Folks, as of today the weekend is now fully booked:

Saturday:

Defiantly
Peter
Mike
Sladey
Alam
Craig001

Sunday:

Fourteener
911Flyboy
Gilbert '71T
East Coast Dave
JB
Jamie

I currently have 1st reserve (Andrew Ish), and 2nd reserve (Dyno).

I will P.M. everybody early this coming week with all of the details, including directions and everything you will need to bring.

One thing I'll underline if I may, is that although I'll provide teas/coffees/biccies etc, there is no provision for lunch. Therefore if everyone can bring some sort of packed lunch, that would be ideal as there are no good local shops / cafes / eateries, and we'll be too tight on time for midday pub lunches. Hope this is O.K. :)

On that note: those travelling in on the day will go past an Esso in Cross in Hand (appx 4.5 miles from me), and a Co-op (Heathfield) both of which do pretty decent sandwiches etc. We'll be aiming for assembly here by 9:30 with a prompt 10.00 start, so the B&B'ers should have time to nip to Heathfield for hang-over cures and munchies :) .

I guess my lack of DDK time means I have lost my place.

Sorry Alam, not at all, it was always a 'first come, first served' event, irrespective of forum attendence. Looking back I can see that you had posted an early interest (one of the first in fact), but somehow had missed the date confirmations (everyone had posted or P.M.'ed their preferred day) once the actual weekend had been finalised.

Assuming all goes well, and we keep fatalities to a minimum ( ) , there'll be another event in the autumn. In the meantime, shall I put you down as a possible reserve for this one?

As of this morning, all of the confirmed attendees should have received their P.M.s with the general info, directions, etc etc.

Obviously, if you have not recieved one, please let me know.

Failing all else, I'll put some sort of confirmation on this thread that we're all good to go / hot to trot (etc) late next week.

Looking foward to seeing everyone here: BTW, I forgot to say on the P.M.'s that parking is going to be off-road, but may involve a bit of clever shuffling: hopefully we'll get everyone in O.K. .

So who is staying down on the Friday night? So far it looks like me & Sladey.

Who else?

Yep I'll be there Friday night - taking the afternoon off work for the journey down - if you're staying let us know and also make sure your mobile is in the members section contact details (or PM them to me) so we can hook up for food etc

I'll be staying the Friday night too. Unfortunatly no room at the Cottage so I'm currently looking around. Once I get something confirmed I'll let everyone know. Would be cool to meet for dinner/beer etc.

If anyone struggles to find a B&B nearby, let me know, and I'll P.M. some names and numbers of ones local to me :) .

Just an update: all's well, except that I forgot to put something on the list of things to bring .....

Ear Defenders!! Sorry about that: I've got a couple of spare pairs, but if anyone's got their own, it would be great if you could bring them :) .

Watch this space for any last minute updates: obviously if there's anything mega-important, I'll send another batch of P.M.s.

I've sent you both a PM with my mobile number. I've a room booked now for the Friday night. Are we still up for dinner?

I mean this with kindness.... I hope some fella drops out  :P

The kindness will be to my VW Bug that I will probably start welding soon.
