its now close on 2 years since the car was finished, in which time there has been a bit of tweaking but also CLM08 and Wales 08 and in 36 hours the start of C2C 09
first thing was to figure out the aluminium side cills, which actually were not so difficult....real ones are either nla or just plain daft money, so I bought a standard pair and worked them to the profile I needed. I think this was the best route as minor adjustments were made to the lengths and shape so they fit perfectly
soon after had a trip up to bob's, car made 190 bhp on the first run, and in fact the mfi pump probably does need a re-build, but after the man worked his magic it was up to 210 bhp, just running nicely rich

....pretty good I reckon for an engine that had been unused for 5 years and all I did was clean and detail it........probably will have that done over winter.......
after about 12 months I finally had the wheels done, which means a big thanks to Alan UK who did a great job of stripping, polishing and anodising, with me choosing to mask and spray which was straight forward assuming a bit of patience
(they are the original wheels, 7's and 8's date stamped october 73 and november 74)

both well worth the effort as it makes all the difference
I also went for an early style L registration plate, the initials have no significance, I just wanted the number 1 and letter L and this took my fancy, pictures are from the May meeting we had up at Duxford
car is gorgeous (to me that is), love every minute of ownership, and am now seriously looking forward to the next project.....
see some of you soon
regards
