Ian they did ask are they all garaged...not until after the quote mind you. It may be a condition, not certain.

Give them a call, their customer service is excellent. In saying that Mannings service was always first class too.

Unlike most of the assistants in the shops I went into today.....

They wont insure a car without a garage if value is over £15,000.

I recently went with Hagerty after several recommendations. Just this morning I sent off several photos of the car including one of it in the garage which they insisted on. Several minutes later I got an automated response say my email had been received.

I didn't expect another email a few hours later saying the car looked great and the Agreed Value had been agreed. Lovely!

Saved me a few quid aswell, as last years premium was only £140 there wasn't much to save, but hey every penny counts

Aon, wouldn't offer me un-limited miles. and they also insisted the car had a thatsam (can't remember which catagory) alarm fitted

I spoke to them the other day, and queried a couple of "what if" scenarios. The car is not insured if you are working on it or restoring it. If you set fire to it whilst welding it up, then no cover. If someone else sets fire to it then you have to claim off their liability insurance.

Worth knowing.

I used them today and they are very helpful indeed. It's astounding to deal with an insurance company that use phrases like "no problem", "that'll be fine", "of course we can do that". Hopefully the service at the other end (although I hope not to find out) if you make a claim is as good.

Another vote for Hagerty.

My policy is up at the end of this month for the BumbleBee (soon to be renamed!) and although I was already paying only £200 pa Hagerty quoted like for like cover at £187. the best bit though was their quote to add the 993 when it's due - it will mean both cars covered for just over approx £430 pa (3K limited mileage with option to increase if necessary) and Caroline can drive the 993 (something my other insurance company wouldn't do)

About a £250 per year saving for me and better coverage.

I spoke to Phil who knows his stuff and mentioned a number of DDK cars in conversation.

Good stuff.

i'm just about to phone them regarding my 356c (and the 356a i'm about to get) which is currently with Mannings.

Hagerty already insure my 911 so lets see if they want the rest of my cars.

well just had a long chat with Phil. that one phone call has just saved me £100.
so barring in mind that 6 months ago they saved me over £100 on the 911 policy. thats a saving of well over £200 so far.

wonder if i can add the merc

I tried with my Merc Helen, but not quite classic enough for them! Took it to Elephant.co.uk after doing the confused.com thing, and saved 280 quid though! The confused.com site is great because it stores your info and emails you at renewal each year to prompt a fresh search. Last year I couldnt beat my Pru quote, but this year I nearly halved it!

Loving Hagerty though!

yes did that when i bought the Merc (couple of months ago) But Direct line beat their best quote.

I am with Hagerty as well following a recommendation of Jamie, our resident award winning "fine young man".

I send Hagerty a formal email informing them of my intention to take the 911SC to europe between the dates of so and so. Got a reply:

"Hi Mr Roex

Thanks for informing us about your trip into Europe, sounds fantastic and hope all goes well. I have a copy of your letter printed and filed for our records. Warm Regards, Charlie Pattenson

Can't recall when I received a nice informal email from an insurer for a long time. Very refreshing.
