After taking the electrical bits off the throttle bodies with a view to sourcing connectors I have found that the idle valve is a stepper motor, not a PWM valve. Which in some ways is good as the MS1 with extra code can't control it anyway, and sourcing a connector in the UK is nigh on impossible. It would have been nice to keep all the Triumph bits, but I knew it wouldn't be that easy!

So I'll be trying to find a standard Ford PWM fidle valve to remotely mount somewhere else in the bay.

Connectors for the injectors are standard issue and I've managed to locate a connector for the throttle position sensor, so a few of the hurdles are being overcome :)

Adaptor plates cut to size, but without holes are arriving tonight (all going to plan) 8)

Do you think the Fidle valve is necessary ?
I never fitted it to the Maserati. Unless you plan to drive cold and in stop start traffic, I'd have thought it just extra weight.
I didn't intend to on the 911. Do you still have the hand throttle ?
Just bung the throttle bypass for now :) If you find it is necessary, you could always pipe up an external PWM Fidle afterwards.
I've popped some bits in the post today...
Cheers

Cheers Tim,

It seemed a nice refinement, a bit of a shame to have EFI then still control warm up idle speed with a lever on the floor? I'm trying to sort everything in advance as a very nice man who is better with a soldering iron than I am is making up a loom to my drawing 8) (once I've done one!) so I wanted to include everything from the start.

Getting down to the detail now, and as they say, that's where the devil is hangin out these days...

ready for the Northern weekend
Oh how we laughed...

Trigger ring turned up today, so with a couple of turned bits made by a friend we now have a trigger ring attached to the crank pulley:

At last I have finally got to make something! :)

Looks good.
Have you tried to fit all that down the slot yet ? I know with mine, I have to fit the pulley (with large bolt) and then slide the trigger ringinand retain using the two smallet bolts (You have used three ) Will the You will need a longer crank pulley bolt to go through all of that. Not sure you will fit it without taking the exhaust off ! Good luck
Cheers

I've sourced a Bolt 15mm longer than standard, all looked OK when I measured it up but I haven't actually fitted it yet...

Figners crossed, I'll bolt it on tonight. I'm putting some 20mm holes in the trigger wheel today as I just can't deal with that much steel hanging off fthe back of the engine only to excite a hall effect sensor! :)

It's fitted! There was 14mm (+ the length of the original bolt) between the head and engine crossmember, so a small adjustment to my 15mm longer bolt and it's sorted 8)

Here is the final pulley assembly in 'lightweight' spec! OK so three 20mm holes make 2/5ths of f'all difference, but it makes me feel better

Cheers for the tube & thermistors Tim 8) 8) Only a fuel pump and PWM idle valve to go and I've got everything I need.

What a quality 'how to' thread - good fortune in fitting it all up!

I'm beginning to feel ashamed by this Gary - I've had the bits for months and months and months and months (you get the picture) yet you've just got on and done it.

Admittedly my car is still driveable, but credit where it's due - you are making a top job of it as always 8).
