Some new parts arrive!
The brand new S cam...
Some shiny new pistons...
A new piston, along with rings and pins...
The pistons are then ceramic coated to act as a heat barrier to help isolate the piston from the heat of the combustion chamber...
Simon.

And the engine starts to go back together...
The engine shroud waits to go back in place...

The gearbox was rebuilt by Mike Bainbridge.
I managed to source a pair of 61mm output flanges from the USA...
61mm output flanges are rarer than hen's teeth, but they allow me to fit a new old stock ZF Limited Slip Diff...
An RSR style lightened flywheel is being fitted when the engine and gearbox go back together...
Simon.

The engine fired up for the first time!
Next step - off to be correctly jetted and tuned by Bob Watson.

A few more photos for you all!
The car finished and loaded onto the trailer ready to go off to be tuned at Bob Watson's...
Bob and John (the engine builder) work on tuning her up...
And a few shots whilst up on the ramps...
Simon.

Great job Alan.
What a relief to get back a space in the workshop, looking forward to the pictures of the shell that Barry has rebuilt in paint.
All the best Dave

No guesses where I was this weekend...
I took the car to Bob in order to have her tuned and tested on a rolling road following running in and the first service...
Sitting on the rolling road ready for the final power run...
And the results...
It's the top two plots we're interested in. The top one is the torque and the next one down is the power.
217 bhp and 248 Nm of torque - from only 3000 rpm!!! Very happy!
Simon.

Here's a short video of the rolling road power run...
