Okey dokey: I think what we will need to do, given the interest in this is to do four days, as six people per day will be the absolute maximum.

As I see it, we'll aim to do two, one-day sessions back-to-back (i.e. a Saturday, and then the Sunday). This is so my (small) workshop can be set up in one go, with just one 'knock-down' per pair of days. One pair of days this late Winter / Early Spring, and the other pair in the late Autumn (ready for the winter restorations).

Just to clarify, yes, I'm down in East Sussex (Not far from Eastbourne / Hastings). There are a number of B&B's around here: none of which I've tried, but can provide a list of numbers if required. As stated before, we'd have to start fairly early (9-30 I would think) as we'll have plenty to get through.

Depending on what people want, I might bias the first day slightly towards welding, and the other towards the panel work, although we'd play it by ear a bit on each day, just by altering the time for each part as appropriate.

Nevertheless I think that it might be an idea that the same areas be covered by all groups: when I did the Contour courses last year I was surprised at how I had never covered some of the basics, something they often come across, even with people 20 years in the trade and more.

BTW, please don't take the above as though I'm some sort of expert: I'm not, but have just been lucky to have picked up a number of hints and tips, particularly over the last couple of years. I'm very happy to pass these on, but similarly should visitors/delegates/students/teachers (delete as appropriate ) have alternative/new/better/correct ideas, then great. At the very least it would be a great pooling of resourses.

If there are still others that want to register an interest, please do, as it will influence the planning of these sessions .

I'd like to come to one of the sessions as well. I have done some gas welding and a little stick and MIG welding a long while ago. I have not used modern MIG equipment though - so would like to have a go. Great that you can do this.

I'll set the first pair of dates fairly soon: I've sort of got in mind late March(ish), but will give a definite weekend early in February.

Just in the middle of a workshop swap-about which has left me rather more room than I had before, which should make things a bit easier .

Perhaps while you're doing some welding you could demonstrate on your own car. See if you can get your 911 through an MOT?

Poor thing: I've just mailed Brendan to say I don't think it'll be ready for the Highland Tour (so your prediction was right, Paul: at least you know you can go into business Fortune Telling ).

I'm in a bit of a dilemma with it: I'm reluctant to go the rat-look route with it really, on the other hand I've now got work for the next few months so won't be able to start a big resto on it either: guess I'll just have to play things by ear ..... on the other hand, I have just thought of another cunning plan that might get it on the road. Watch this space .

I'm sure we'll be able to sqeeze some more in somewhere: as far as I'm concerned, it's all money to the charity, so the more the better. As I've said before, each day will have to limited to six people maximium, just so everyone can see what's happening, and to try each process.

Therefore it's just a question of how many days we'll end up doing. I've still got in mind to do a pair of days this Spring, followed by at least a pair of days in the Autumn, ahead of the restoration season.

I've got a minimum figure in mind of what I would like to raise this year: hopefully people will judge the day to be well worth the suggested donation .

the quicker the better for me so I can get on with some more jobs on my 54 so I can stick to target and get it painted in JUNE 07 Yes every one I said I want to paint my 356 this JUNE!! ( only had it 7 years and not done it ops )

Mark, no date confirmed, I think James may have been referring to the engine materclass from Mike Bainbridge?

Nevertheless, I'm still aiming to do something late March. i.e. the first pair of single days, over one weekend.
