I think you'll find the front and rear light units, and the Minilites, are the ones off my old car, which passed through PS hands a while ago...WTDoom wrote:Hello Sir !oldtimer wrote:Hi Baf , yes it was me driving and Erling Jensen providing ballast at Combe. That you JL ?
Recognised your blutorange ST , tell me about the Black car ??
Great to see you here , its fantastic this place like the who's who of the British Porsche world
The black car is a g50 3.2 custom built by Paul Stephens , I think Sam designed it . It will replace my mini cooper as my daily car .
I went to see Sam at PS and he was fantastic , the car is on 15 inch Minilites and is set up to have an almost perfect ( for me at least ) balance of power , handling and grip . It is a G50 box 3.2 . It was resprayed , the engine ( top end ) was rebuilt , interior was backdated along with the exterior . Then it was put on Minilites and treated to a semi " R " / custom look . I just fell in love with it , it will make a different , exciting and quite practical ( for my needs at least ) daily car . On the 15 inch wheels its just tremendous fun at legal speeds . Paul and Sam took great care of me and I wandered off and kept coming back to drive it ( I just couldnt resist it ) and eventually took the plunge and bought it .
Hoping to pick up on Wednesday
Hope you are well

Finally, some pictures of my new best friend. These were taken yesterday on a quick blast to blow cobwebs away and are neither very artistic nor very good, but better here than still waiting I say!
Hope u-like
This is tucked up snug in the garage:
And then less snug out in the frost:
Let's hope I managed to do this wothout crashing the site!
Best wishes to one and all.
Sam.

Hi Sam
A big hello from around the world in Cape Town - we met a number of years ago in the UK over our interest in CSLs! I had a golf yellow car, sadly now sold! We've both now joined the pre-impact scene - your 911 looks very nice!
Kind regards
Magnus

Long time no speak. I'm glad that you are well and it's funny we've both ended up with old 911's. We must have impecable taste
I still have the csl and am still smitten. Had to have a front end freshen-up at the end of 2012 and all is now well again, though that and the 911 set me back a fair chunk of savings! Mind you, with no mistress, no smoking and no golf it all means I have money left for the important things in life!
1972 was a good year, all things considered.
Look after yourself.
Best wishes,
Sam.

Bought in Hong Kong in 2000. Now owned it for 12 years, still gives a thrill everytime I get it out for a drive. Argueably the perfect mix of air cooled tradition with modernity but just my opinion.
