Voltage regulator changed, no difference
Removed alternator and when I got it out 2 diodes fell out of the casing!
Didn't realise that you need to have gyneaocological experience to get the alternator out of the SC motor

Opted to go for newly rebuilt alternator from Type 911, should be here before the weekend, so there's an evens chance I'll get it to the meet at Malton on Sunday

With the telephone help line at MBEngineering

we have surmised that the 10k tacho I have is for a 3-pin CDI ('cos the tacho works OK in the Rep) but I'm now running a 6-pin CDI so now trying to 'interface' the two

Just about everything else is done apart from cleaning all the months of dust out of the car

Seriously considering sellng this car if anyone is interested. There are still a few things to sort out, cosmetically, in the interior.
Reason for possible sale? 3 x 911's is one too many! I spend all my time in the garage rather than driving

My RS Rep is a keeper and the T is so original I'd be very reluctant to let it go, so that leaves the R-inspired car as the odd one out.
I bought it originally with the intention of doing trackdays, a sort of retirement gift to myself. A minor (in hindsight!) health scare shortly after I bought it changed all this, but I was determined to see it finished, so here it is.
There's enough left to do to put your own individualty on it.
It stands me at around £40k and has an agreed insurance value with Hagerty's at £45k. I know I'm going to take a 'hit' on the price, but such is life

10k tacho now modified, re-installed and working, thanks to North Hollywood Speedos.

I can return the 'stand-in' tacho to its' rightful owner now

My thanks to Brembo for the loan of his unit for testing/substitution purposes whilst my own tacho was being modified at North Hollywood

The spirit within DDK never ceases to amaze me - advice for modding my tacho by NHS came from lightweight_911 (Andy Boyle); the loan of a tacho without question from brembo (Dougie). And to all the others that offered help - thanks guys
