Ducktail
hi ,
sika flex is silly con free . It is a polyurethane based adhesive used to bond metals and plastics It is commonly used in the marine industry.
You are right I can't see a painter being chuffed with silicon based or containing products unless he/ she has a weakness for dimples !!!
Thanks for your comments.

ducktail
Finsished the rs spoiler repairs aand ducktail frame rebond today.
This is an interior only project since the body shop will surface prep and paint so as usual my work won't show
I had to add material on all edges of the ducktail so a good panel fit can be acheived by simple use of a body file and finish with epoxy filler. The tail weighs half a kilo less now all the old filler and loads of bodged in P40 has been removed but on balance I expect the spoiler is slightly heaver with new brackets instead of rust and some extra glass where it was so damaged.

Back to the r car now

Just to finalise the pics that Andy kindly posted of that original RS lid.
We have just finished painting it and it will soon be back on the car we are restoring.

Thanks
Alan
