I remember when I had a 911 repatriated from Paris. Throughout the process my expenditure was discussed and anything being booked initial recovery to a garage, attempted repair, 2 x hire cars, multiple taxis, flights home and car then being returned to the UK) was confirmed to be within the limit - it's a long long time ago but I'm pretty sure that was through the RAC via my insurance company at the time

Interesting … on the back of this very thread and having checked my classic line policy which has a £3k claim limit and doesn’t cover Slovenia , I’ve just taken out a RAC European policy which covers all 3 of my toy cars and it doesn’t have a limit for repatriation( well it does but it’s the market value of the car )

Well I was hoping to post a success story of the car being back in my garage. Which is immediate but they broke the under strut then moving the car! I will need to inspect the damage in person but here's hoping for some good news soon!

Glad it's home (relatively) unscathed. Hopefully it's a simple/cheap fix.

Unfortunately, I will not be home until Friday. I will drop the oil first and hold my breath:)

Good picture to see Neil.
Open up the filter element too as anything big will be trapped.
Hope the sump plug is clean.

I will take the sump plate off too. I do it after long journey. That is where I'm most likely to find the bad stuff. The filter is mostly useless on a 616 engine. It's not after the sump to doesn't really do much good.

See here goes through most of the engine (after the sump pickup) before getting to the filter!

Agree with Andy on the oil flow, how strange is that lot.

Very pleased to see you've got the car back Neil. Best of luck sorting out the motor. I'm sure plenty here will offer support to get you on the road again soon.
