Paul - just been looking at those two pictures you posted above again...

Believe it or not they are 2 different colours - the first car is Signal Yellow & the second is Signal Orange - just shows how colours in these hues can look very different depending on lighting conditions, camera settings, etc.

Yes, it's the orange colour called 'signal yellow' I prefer.

That burgundy car is done soooooo nicely. If I can get near that quality I'll be delighted. Might forward some of those pics to Nick. Keep him on his toes.

Hi Paul, been away from the forum a bit but just back and great to see a new project at its inception! Having already done a fantastic stock 'S' then it has to be a version of the above, and of course no shortage of expert help with Nick involved, is'nt he doing an ST rep as well as the RSR at the moment.

Will be interesting to see how it all evolves, it obvious you have the look and body style in mind, but the engine spec will be crucial, from a fun, cost and driveability point of view.

As for colour, early days yet, but how about metallic silver as a base, cos then you can add or delete decals at will, porsche scripts, roundals, stripes all we go with that colour, even gulf orange bumpers front and rear and full martini stripes:shock:

I'd certainly welcome a chance to look carefully over your car though. There's more than a few bits I'd like to check out and copy.

I'm not going to go for silver.
As has been said before "the world doesn't need another silver car".

Colour. Should be easy really. It's got to be a Porsche colour and to be period correct for the early cars. Simple then.

I don't really fancy white, ivory, red or brown. Aubergine? Not bad. Possibly. 'Can't do green, much as I like chartreuse, because I've done green. I thought about doing it black but that was when it was to be restored back to standard.
Yellow's good but Tom will accuse me of plagiarism and Helen's orange sporto is lovely (and looked a very complementary colour when parked next to my green 'S'). And the pics Andy posted looked good in orange or signal yellow. So definitely orange... ..but I'm strangely drawn to blue.
I love Charlotte's blue SWB and it sets off the chrome lovely. I also admire Ian Donkin's gulf blue car. So maybe that or maybe a brighter blue?
I think it's going to be blue. Maybe.
