Bugger bugger bugger... my engine has developed a pretty spectacular oil leak from an oil return tube. Over the weekend it lost about a litre in 200 miles   Things get pretty smokey when it touches the exhaust :|

Dont think this is a show-stopper, but will be checking the dipstick like a man posessed.... oh and dont drive behind me if you want your car to remain clean and shiney :?

Gav: is it a hole in the tube, or the seal at the end?

Hole in tube: Duct tape? Jubilee clip with a bit of inner tube?

Poor sealing: Clean off with solvent, hight temp. silicon?

Or some of the ReadyMetal type stuff (the rock-hard filler in a tube: dark grey and black, mixed together in your hand then wodged into area to be bodged). I had a carburettor that self destructed on a 1950's Guzzi bike: the whole of the main jet assembly sheared off, leaving petrol pouring out. I pushed the thing to a garage, and glued the whole lot togther with this stuff. Not only did it get me home, but it didn't leak at all, and ran fine. Something for the car's bodge kit :thumbright:

Barry I think it's leaking from the o-ring at the cam-carrier end of the RH oil rtn tube nearest the oil cooler... I say "think" because its difficult to pinpoint with the heat exchanger in the way... going to check it out tonight but may be difficult to do much about in situ...

Cheers...

I've seen on a few threads that people are going to go and get their tickets as soon as they get to Arnage on Thurs. On my letter from Vincent it says the office is open Friday 10-4 and Sat 8-4. Practice starts Friday afternoon so does this mean its access all areas until Friday a.m.?

I don't want to treck to the Expo building for nothing.

Also, save me a space, I expect to get there around 4ish on Thurs. I've got a fridge in the car so there'll be a few COLD beers arriving too

Just noticed my camping ticket says Karting Nord too. Might try Just tickets to see if there's any Maison Blanche spaces left.

I'm getting the fast ferry to cherbourg tomorrow morning - arrives at 10.45 - perhaps I'll catch a few of you up on the way.

Gave the car a service - was up till one in the morning adjusting the valves - (tried the new pelican way where you measure the gap between the cam and rocker - seems to work well). Polished the car too - and now it's raining.

Nope - no Maison Blanche spaces left. Looks like we'll have to start a breakaway DDK late bookers faction. Live Dangerously - Book Late
