I propose - if James doesn't get his ticket - we'll smuggle him in on the grounds he does the cooking and washing up?

All those in favour?

There's nothing special about the letter. We can put together a nice forgery in time if you don't get it this week

Yes - it has a three digit number on the top left - and says in clear print "VERY IMPORTANT - Tickets will only be delivered with this letter". It then goes on to list how many tickets and of what type.

Sos - It does give a number in case of emergency - +33 6 13 61 84 84 or +33 6 12 29 39 20

Why not try emailing Vincent and explain? I'll keep my fingers crossed for Monday morning's post :-)

I've had an interesting weekend. Stupidly decided to fix a few minor faults. Blue light wasn't coming on when lights were on full beam so I looked into the trouble. Found the bulb wasn't connected to the fuse board. So I went to unscrew the connector to the top fuse on the lower board. The whole thing crumbled apart  QA quick trip to halfords and I have bodged some temporary fuses and I'll replace the whole lower board when I get back. Unfortunately the whole event tooks its toll in other ways. my electric windows, sunroof and RH dipped headlights don't work.

A few hours in the garage needed over the next couple of days I think.

On a good note I've changed the fuel filter today without any trouble. Just need to change the oil and fit a radio. I've made up a cable to plug my ipod into the 72 Becker Grand Prix I bought ages ago.

Excited? You bet!

Right there with you Nick. Doing a full service on Friday night and couldn't get the screw on the points undone, so pulled the dissy out to put it on the bench to see what I was doing. Can you spot the mistake yet?

Yup, didn't mark up the timing first, so 2 hours later after pulling the valve covers off to check the piston position we were back running again.

and after all that the points that I had supplied (you know who you are  ) are an exact mirror image of the old ones so I couldn't put them on anyway

Anyway all sorted now and carbs all set up, running lovely. Can't wait 8) 8) 8)

With you both!

My car was due to be ready on Friday after a tune up, valve clearances and suspension set up.

The steering has felt a bit notchy so that's now being fixed.

The carbs are off and stripped with new gaskets and jets just hoping the new bushes arrive today!

The mechanic assures me all will be well for tomorrow!

We'll see!
