Ryan Linley Restoration?

Post by Nige »

Has anyone had recent contact with https://ryanlinleyrestoration.co.uk/ regarding speedo/gauge refurbs?

I spoke to him earlier this year, all good, nice chat and chap. I then sent my speedo for repair at the beginning of June, along with a backup email and have heard nothing since. I've called half a dozen times over the past couple weeks just for confirmation of receipt and it just rings out to answerphone, left a couple of pleasant messages and nothing.

I have tracking/photo that my speedo was delivered, so I'm guessing he's gone AWOL, dead or won the lottery and living it up?

In the meantime does anyone have a spare 3.2 speedo for sale or short term borrow as I have the MOT soon which I guess will need a functioning speedo to pass and not a black hole in the dash.

Not sure a car needs a Speedo to pass the MoT?
But you might need it for the indicator lights..
Call them.

Hi Nige, I have an SC kph speedo that you are welcome to borrow to get through MoT.
I’m pretty sure Graham has borrowed it in the past for his 3.2 powered 1973 car.
I’m at Harewood for the weekend, will check it out when I get home.
Cheers

Cheers for the offer JW, I'll double check as mine is G50 gearbox so its electronic, SC will be mechanical off the 915 box I think.

I'm at the test station tomorrow with the wife's car, so will ask.

The indicators are on the rev counter so we're good there. I can always print a speedo out onto photopaper to actual size and pop it in the slot, see if he notices. 8)

You do need a speedo, but it doesn't have to work. 😂

Just be mindful if you put someone else’s speedo in there and mileage is vastly different, it will show as a discrepancy on the MOT history as well as any HPI check, when, and if you come to sell the car at a future date
