Fixed to re-coiled seatbelt conversion. Has anyone done it?
Hi guys,
I have a 1972 911T which has the fixed seatbelts fitted. I presume these are original to the car. I’ve seen some re-coiling seatbelts for sale but not sure if they would be a straight swap. Has anyone done this conversion and if so how easy were they to fit?
Thanks in advance

I've done this in the past - see this old thread & scroll halfway down the page for info/part numbers, etc:

If it is of interest I haver a pair of Securon 500/30 inertia belts available. New and unused but box opened. Bought in error.

I did this when restoring my car. Went from the original static to inertia reel. Works well.

Re: Fixed to re-coiled seatbelt conversion. Has anyone done it?
I converted my fixed three point Repa seat belts to inertia reel so they look period correct ( if you are intetested in that kind of detail). I stripoed and got chrome plated the metal parts. Stretch on here supplied the period correct seatbelt webbing and he got the belts made up with the inertia reel. The receiver is fixed to the seat runner on an L shsped bracket. Inertia reel on the sill and the intermediate guide on the B post. Note when I had work on the bodywork the B post and sill mount were strengthen in anticipation of the revised seat belt.
