Spark plugs recommendation

Post by RSGulp »

I’ve just brought my 1973 911T out of storage and looking to replace the spark plugs. Can anyone recommend which spark plugs to buy – make and model code? Beru or Bosch?

While we’re at it, where the best place to source new distributor cap and points?

Thanks in advance.

.

Personally, I've always used NGK BP7ES plugs in any early 911 I've owned.

One word of warning though - buy them from a reputable source (such as Green Spark Plug Co) as there are a lot of 'fake' NGK plugs out there.

+1 from me too. ^^^
Those have never given me a problem for 36 years..( 2.2/2.4/3.2 engines).

Not sure how you tell a knock-off from the real deal as they will be sold at similar prices.

Green Spark will be for real, but for the past 10 years or so have used Design911. No idea what their source is, but would hope it is correct, used because I needed lots of other parts for an engine service.
Got all the fancy plugs/leads/connectors for my hot 3.2 engine from Green Spark, went there to discuss things first.
Well worth it.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve just ordered a set of NGK BP7ES from Green Spark.
