Question on sport seat opening

Post by leedurrant73 »

Hello,

I’m looking at a 69 to 73 sport seat. But the side handle for opening the seat is the wrong side.

Can it be switched to the other side easy?

It’s a Recaro standard seat?
Thanks

Is it a "Recaro standard seat" or a "sport seat" that you are looking at ? (unclear from your post).

Assuming it's a "Recaro standard SPORT seat: there are of course two elements: seat itself, and frame:
- seat itself - look at a parts breakdown and you'll see the LHS and RHS differences. Therefore - unless you buy both and switch mechanisms (which there'd be little point in doing !!!) - no - you can't simply switch something
- frame. Single or double locker. But regardless - again - there's a LHS and RHS which are specific and mirror images. So - no - you can't simply switch something

Depending on whether you'll use it often - just install the Recaro Standard Sport Seat on the "wrong side" (which I have done on my RHD 69). It's a bit awkward to lift the seat (the seat belt bracket gets in the way on mine) but I lift it rarely.
