CLM or bust

Post by greg356a »

With no chance of fixing the fuel tank issue in the speedster or the crankshaft on the 356 before CLM next week and I really did not want to go in the Audi A5 I made a call and now the proud owner of a 1988 924S Le Mans edition. Its in fantastic condition. With the last family owning the 924 for 17 years it appears to have been very well cherished. Its also 50 year anniversary of the 924

In addition to the MO30 suspension and M40 2.5 944 engine it has larger cup 7" cup wheels and new tyres, Monti-carlo arches, FIA Roll cage, Refurbished interior with OEM materials.

Given it a quick once over, tighten front wheel bearings. There was a very strong petrol smell which Mike traced to a perished fuel line between the fuel filler pipe and the hard line running to the front. There was not time to look at the breather pipe on top of the tank but that is next on the list.

It drives like a true GT car so CLM should be comfortable and great fun,

We park there and walk to Mulsanne corner viewing spot ( need you general admission ticket to get in )

Most of us will be there 9am ish to watch the Porsche classic race … but we will try and have a meet up at the cars 10:30am
