Spam traffic preventative measures

Post by Bootsy »

I don’t want to tempt fate but….

After a few days of pain I’m hopeful we should now not only see things back to normal but even better performance speed wise

The attacks by AI Bots has been felt worldwide by sites like these recently

I’ve signed up to and installed Cloudflare - a solution which enables me to manage the traffic coming on the site. I’ve blocked all traffic from Vietnam and Brazil which was where the lion’s share of the spam was coming from and I have additional tools to manage or counteract new attacks if/when they happen

Hopefully the forum should be zipping about now and masses of unwanted ‘guests’ crawling content for their AI engine learning are being shown the middle finger

Thanks for your patience

You’re the man Bootsy!

Well done for your persistence on this - I just need to somehow get Tapatalk to remember my groups so I don’t have to add DDK each time now!

You talked it up!
I can’t see it now or find it!
I’m away today but will have a look and see if I can solve it on my return tomorrow

Can you still see the forum in Tapatalk?

After quick bit of reading I will need to read and do some work.

Without alarming anybody...... Tapatalk is one of the least secure apps out there - getting access to other people’s PMs via a security hole in tapatalk is a well known issue for example. Many forums won't use Tapatalk given it's security issues but I appreciate why it's used - I use it too

Cloudflare is probably blocking it at the moment because of this so II need to do some work to write some rules so I allow it to be seen

In tapatalk.

Go to home. On the bottom bar select notifications. Look for a notification from DDK forum in the list and click on it.
It should ask you to confirm your login email or username is correct and log you in.
Then click the “add” button next to the forum banner to add in back into your home page list.

Hopefully that makes sense

Yes it does - thanks for that
It looks like you need to log in again
However, its not appearing in the listing if you haven’t been on before so I need to sort that

I’m hoping Tapatalk is back to normal know - wrote a few rules to prevent Cloudflare blocking it, spoke with Tapatalk to make sure the forum is appearing in there directory

Let me know if you’re still having any specific problems

I have had many problems trying to log on to DDK since you first reported the fact it had been spammed. I tried everything and it would not work till I finally seem to have got back on. I did all the re -registering and even tried changing the P/W no chance. I have gone back to my original user name and p/w and it has worked I am back on the site.

Have others told you these problems? I hope I have finally resolved it all who knows ??

I hope this gets through to you.
