Hi There

Re: 356 Coupe Replica - Where to Buy?
In response to your original questions i am right at the end of a Speedster Clinic Pre A build - thread burnt pig on DDK. The 356 coupes that are available are body / subchassis packages to go on a beetle floorpan. The easiest and cheapest route is to go with the beetle running gear, but you can upgrade almost every part of the car. So yes you can put a Subaru engine in but you need to be prepared to do a lot of fabrication work to get it to fit and obviously you will need to mount a radiator up front too. I opted for Red9 suspension all round and the car does drive well on this, but there are really an infinate ammount of options for building the car so firstly decide what you want the car for... if its cruise to local cars and coffee meets then go the beetle route, however if you want to do track days and push the car to the limits then a bespoke chassis is probably the way to go. The people on here will no doubt chip in with any specific advice. Good luck with the project...

Re: 356 Coupe Replica - Where to Buy?
Hi, not been on here for a while as work has got in the way but I am building chassis for all 356 types, 550 and RSK’s.
Regarding 356 chassis there are various options with drive train and roll cage spec.
I prefer to stick with Porsche/VW engine and transmission as a nod to originals.
