Green Spot Jacks

Post by fcd911 »

I have a Green Spot Jack in my car but also have another, found in the garage loft which was bought for my rally car but not used in the end and I do not need two! However comparing the two jacks reveals one is 500mm long and the other is 430mm long.

Does anyone know the applications and why the difference in lengths?

Thanks
John

Thanks for posting the link.

From studying the Early 911 Registry posts and photographs it looks to me that it is all guess work - no one really seems to know which Jack goes with which year of 911. So I am happy that my 500mm long Jack is close enough for my car which was built July 1973. It is probably down to what came out of the Bilstein factory at the time!!

I have established that the 430mm Bilstein Jack is for a VW of probably the same era. Was there a limited amount of room to stow the Jack in a VW hence the shorter length?

I've got two here, one came from my 3.2 Carrera. The Carrera jack won't fit in my SC as the foot is a slightly different shape. Not sure if that's helpful.
