Hi,
I wanted to share my experiences regarding 123 tune+ for 2.0S engine. I had original Bosch 002 in place and I was able to get engine to run quite ok after full rebuild. However there were some flat spots and idle was not super smooth. Some of that is definitely due the wear in carbs but I thought upgrading to more modern ignition would help too. I was really happy with 123 (switched model) in my 912 engined prea and therefore that was obvious choice for me. However switched model spec for 2.0S engine showed quite odd values for maximum advance. I tried to find out if there was just a type error or not but could not get comfirmation on the curve so I decided to go for tune+ model. In addition it also has a immobiliser feature.
Keeping long story short and after quite a bit of study regarding 002 curve and settings I ended up to start with the curve shown below. Likely it is not perfect, but I was positively surprised that it actually worked a lot better first time out than I expevted. No flat spots and engine pulls strongly. In case someone else is wondering what curve to use, this can be certainly used as basis to start tuning. I'd happy also to receive comments and experiences if someone else has done the same for 2.0S engine.
Br,
Aki

2.0S ignition upgrade to 123 Tune+
Edit: curve includes static advance of 8 degrees BTDC. Engine and distributor is set to 0 to allow total advance managed entirely via advance curve.

You might want to look at this resource for Porsche distributor advance curves for various models.............

Do seem to have a lot more advance than that curve?

I forgot to mention that curve has 8 degrees of static advance included and engine and distributor is set to 0. This way total advance can be set via curve.
The article above mostly refers to dynamic advance and does not include static advance. At least this is how I read it.
