starter lockout mechanism

Post by cschmueck »

Two years ago my starter lockout in the ignition switch failed, permanently locked out and could not start with the key. I have wired in starter push button under the dash and that works ok. Just- now, two years later, it is really starting to annoy me and I would like my key starting back.
Is anyone here versed or knows someone versed that can repair the lockout mechanism or disable it for me? Thanks!

The switch or the mechanism? The switch itself can be changed difficultly enough, on your back in the footwell, with the precise length of screwdriver.

Thanks. It is the mechanical part that prevents operating the starter while the engine is already running.
