Imagine being hit by the stupid large ones when in the 356....

Large cars are dangerous.
Small cars (today) are dangerous to be in!

I wonder if 'small' will ever return to car design?

Just shows you how car sizes have increased over the years, legislation, safety features, NCAP - oh and because it is the USA build it as big, and ugly, as possible - just because you can.

To be fair those full size trucks in the US are huge. Our big trucks here are their midsize / compact

An UP! GTi is shorter and narrower than a 356, though obviously taller.

We have the Skoda Monte Carlo variant.
Surprisingly competent and very much the all rounder.
Perfect size inside and out.
