WTB Recaro sport seat rails
Hi all,
Also looking for the lower part of the rails, with the 3 adjustment holes.
The ones with 4 height-adjustment holes also considered.

Re: WTB Recaro sport seat rails
Thanks! These are Scheel I think, they have the lever on the rails. The lever to move the seat back/forth with my seat is mountend in the seat itself, not on the rails.
Re: WTB Recaro sport seat rails
These are available as repro from carpoint and sierra madre. 700GBP or so for two seats.
They look like really nice products.
The non-adjuster slider in the seat I think is standard 356/911 and available as repro. Cheap too.
The rails/mounts could potentially be crafted from repro 356/911 rails (again not expensive) and welding on the legs and cut the slots for the adjuster.
It’s the seat slider with the adjuster that’s gonna be a tough one to fabricate. Not available on its own as repro.

Re: WTB Recaro sport seat rails
Than one would need to take an upper part from an early 911 comfort seat rails, change that, and weld it to a new lower 'leg'?
Re: WTB Recaro sport seat rails
On the left side the Sierra Madre reproduction.
Re: WTB Recaro sport seat rails
I hadn’t spotted that. There does seem to be a different profile, but I wonder if it’s not just that the SierraMadre seem to have a wider hour-glass base and then angles in to have the same width at the top as original? Original seem to have a narrower base and a straight U-profile.
Without having the repro available it will be impossible to say if they are compatible with originals. However both original lower rails and seat slides are available as repro and they surely must match each other and the OEM stuff. I was thinking one could start with those parts and build from there.

I have a Scheel rails now, and two normal early 65 Comfort seat upper part of the rails. Lets see what I can make out of those two parts
Re: WTB Recaro sport seat rails
I have found 2 rails for the 1966 SWB 911S Recaro Sport Seats, but both have a different upper part, so if anyone has a single to swap?

WTB Recaro sport seat rails
Have you spoken to Paul or Matt at Karmann Konnection. They could probably get the right one for you as I think they are at Strahle SwapMeet in Germany. Or they might already have one.
