Distributor Help

Post by theorangeperil »

Anyone help me with some info on my Distributor? The code on the side is:

0 231 184 0001
JFUD 6

It has vacuum advance. I think I want to replace it with an non-vacuum Distributor. What model would I need, or should I modify the one I have?

0 231 184 001 is from a '74-'77 2.7 CIS engine

What engine do you have in your car ?

Andy, did you get my PM?
Did my engine number shed any light. I assume it is a 2.4 case?

Sorry Peter - yes, engine number identifies it as originally being a Euro spec 2.4T (Zeniths).

I've got several 'spare' distributors - I'll check to see if I've got anything suitable tomorrow.

Checked today - sorry the only spare Bosch distributors I have are:

0231 159 007 (no vac advance) = 2.0/2.2 S (shaft is too small in diameter to fit your engine)

0231 169 011 (with vac advance) = 2.7 Carrera RS
