Windows/dash?

I seem to be getting a lot of extieror noise which I have tracked down to the rear windows. They really don't seem to fit very well. I was wondering if anyone has any segestions? I don't know if it the seals or the clamp/handles, see pics.





You can see daylight from the inside, even if you push the window from the outside it still wont close properly.

Also, anyone know of where I can get a replacement dash front between the steering column and glove box, mine looks like Stevie Wonder cut it with a spoon to fit the radio!

Might be worth fitting a new set of rubbers to the rear quarter windows. If they're the originals, they can turn hard & brittle which stops them seating correctly when closed.

I've also seen them shrink, causing water ingress/distortion/poor fit. Especially if the car has come from somewhere a little warmer than London

Hi,

The other thing you can try with the rear quarter windows is to put a washer (or two!) under each of the three mounting screws for the clamp. This will increase the preload and pull the windows in a bit tighter taking out the slack of the old seals.

A complete new set of seals really adds up so this can offer a temporary (?permanent? ) fix.

Just remembered, my car has a plastic spacer under the bracket. This maybe under the trim on your car, but if it is missing it certainly wouldn't help with the sealing of your windows. Sorry for the poor photo, this is cut out of something much bigger

I agree with Max, had the same problem and new seals fixed it. there is also some adjustment on the hinge end, if the window hinge is pushed to far in it can stop the window closing. Im just down the road in Luton so any probs give me a bell.\01582404550
