90’s Chesil Speedster
My wife finally got her dream car after 30 years and i have to say i think its great too. Jobs this winter:
New hood
Refurb interior leather
Probably drop out the engine, clean and dress it .
Would be nice tomhear from other Chesil owners particularly as best places for parts etc (1600 twinport 1970 Beetle engine).
Cheers.

Sounds cool. Welcome!
As above, we need pics! I always used to use Machine7 for aircooled VW stuff, and occasionally Just Kampers. I used VW Heritage once and they sent me broken dross and made it nigh-on impossible to return it so I gave up and never used them again. And I always un-recommend them to anyone new to aircooledness too!

Yeah, I know. Gutted.
Re: 90’s Chesil Speedster
I bought quite a lot of stuff from Heritage last year and it was all fine so don't necessarily discount them.

Re: 90’s Chesil Speedster
Thanks for the nice welcome and I’ve put a few pics above. I’ll check out Just Kampers and I know Heritage already.
Due to their ups an downs i guess, Chesil dont have a parts shop..?
Roger Bray is local to me.
Are most genuine Porsche parts interchangeable?
And Beetle parts?
For example, i need
1. the clip that clamps the interior mirror to the vertical support.
2. Would also like to swap indicators to clear lenses with orange bulbs.
3. May also need a new windscreen
Any general direction/ guidance /good suppliers much appreciated

Re: 90’s Chesil Speedster
Welcome, must say this a great place to get some help with both large and small projects.
Westfield sportscars purchased Chesil some time ago, however Westfield went into receivership some time ago, although looking at their website they seem to be running. If you wanted a new roof or windscreen they might be the place to check, be cautious about their trading conditions. There are several types of curved windscreens made which will fit the windscreen surround better or worse. With regard to VW parts there are many sites, I use VW heritage and never had a problem, others that I have used include Limebug, CB performance.
For repro 356 parts like clear front indicators try Roger Bray, Karmman Konnection, Replica Parts limited are all good. I have not seen a rear lens which is clear/ red.
Nice car, hope you have lots of ownership fun

Thanks for that greg356a . Hadn’t thought to contact them for a roof. Was actually going to use a proper local car upholsterer near me. Worth a call. Cheers
