Yes online Auction sites are the flavour of the month as everyone is stuck at home. Car and Classic are now onto it. But you could also try Colllecting Cars which is UK based.

An example of why you should be using this method would be $427,000 paid for a '67 911 Targa this week on Bring a Trailer.

I mean they spent $402,000 on the restoration, its a one year only quirk.... its Green? But unless they bought it for less than $25,000 this is some man maths that certainly hard to rationalise to others outside of the air cooled Porsche scene.

As one of tbe Auctioneers observed with the people going crazy at Meecums over early 4x4s like the Bronco's or Scout's. Was that people are buying these at well into triple digit prices. They drive them, some for the 1st time and realise that they drive like.. well a cheaply made 70s pickup.
So put them back into the Auction and someone else is buying them as they are flavour of the month

Sadly with my 72 911T going live on 'Collecting Cars' next week, I'll be well placed to let you know?

CC came highly recommended by fellow members and so far I have been impressed with their communication, knowledge and attention to detail, so fingers crossed.

I think the auction sites suit some sellers more than buyers at this moment in time. The problem I have is that I could never bring myself to spend the kind of money on a car that ‘collecting cars’ offer because a visual inspection, drive, and history trawl would be paramount. An interaction with the owner is also important. A seven day auction or so would be more like a ‘punt’ to me, and an expensive one at that. I can see why it would suit a seller in these restricted times. The last car I sold took two months of pleasant interaction between myself and the buyer which not only develops confidence but gives complete certainty about what you are buying warts and all.
I’m on the lookout for the next purchase but it likely won’t be via an auction site but with someone I can actually talk to about their car.

Regards
Mike

Just a quick update on this post.
I took every ones advice and put a post on the Cars for Sale page of DDK before giving it to a local Porsche Specialist to sell who would have taken a 10% sellers fee.
I'm happy to say it sold via DDK and it's going to a good home which I also feel is important.
Thanks DDK'ers
I'll be lurking in the background for a few months before I take the plunge again - not sure on what this time though, maybe a 964
