I wonder if it's a bit like Alfa GTAs...

I think the number of new RHD speedsters delivered to AFN in Isleworth could be under ten cars. There must be quite a few LHD ones now in the UK probably imported from sunnier climates World wide.

I stand to be corrected on that figure by someone that has the real true figure possibly like Mike has maybe?

No Speedsters, only removable hardtop Bs were assembled in South Africa. Mike might remember doing a PPI on one for me about 20 years ago. I followed his advice and dodged that one. 6 or 7 of the knock down kits fell into the Suez Canal on their way from Stuttgart to Jo'burg - wonder if they're still there...

Mike and Paul have a fantastic database of the 356 production with a particular focus on RHD , It's destined to be published one day - I'd buy it for sure!!.

I read that AFN only supplied 3 RHD speedsters in the UK.
1964 Porsche 356c (RHD)
1957 Vespa GS 150 VS3
1960 Vespa GS 150 VS5
1960 Lambretta Li125
1963 Lambretta Li150 series 3
1962 Lambretta TV175
1966 Lambretta SX200

I stand to be corrected but Bill Goodman editor of PCGB magazine bought a RHD Speedster for £50- and restored it Reg no. OV3. Also another PCGB guy bought a RHD drive one and I think? PRS and Gantspeed were involved on restoration. Apart from that Delwyn Mallet friend of KS also has owned a RHD one for many years. I have some pics of his red car I took in the early 70's. I saw that car first in the mid 60's parked near Isleworth a number of times. Rare car to see then.
I guess Mike can confirm but that's 3 cars. Maybe a couple more gone to rust heaven?

That's funny. Mike Smith and I spent an afternoon ploughing through the shipping casualty records at LR (Lloyds Register of Shipping) a couple of years ago to see if we could find a record of the loss of that particularly interesting cargo...

...and? Or do we have to wait for the book?

Apparently they were trimmed locally. I like to think at least one was spec'd with a crocodile or zebra hide interior
