Richard von Frankenberg (the Keith Seume of Christophorus) goes over the top at AVUS 1956, piloting the magnesium bodied Spyder 645 prototype nicknamed Mickey Maus for its 'comical' handling and braking. Thrown from the car and landing in acacia bushes he miraculously survived. Jean Behra had a remarkably similar accident in a 718 RSK in 1959 but was not so fortunate, ejected from the car he was killed instantly when he hit a flagpole.

All the other photos I've seen of this car show it as butch, pumped up hotrod but I think you get an idea of scale from this photo. It's little !
