After a hairy '69, the 917K won by 170 miles on its debut at Daytona '70 providing the inspiration for the Renault Espace. The K was created when John Horsman of JWA noticed the absence of dead flies on the 917 rear wing. Disliking flies he raised the rear bodywork and added a pair of spoilers, inadvertently taming the 917. Victory at Le Mans eluded JWA-Porsche, however the marriage of Slough and Stuttgart was so fertile that FIA banned the 917 for the '72 season.

That looks like Chesil Beach in the background, so probably on the B3157.
