Just a big 'thumbs up' for Heritage Ins ...

Post by Lightweight_911 »

.

For the past ~10 years I've had all of my (continually changing) classic cars on a single multi-vehicle policy via RH Classic.

I've never had to make a claim but was always happy with their service/pricing.

Over the past couple of years the annual premium had been creeping up at renewal time but (lazily) I just accepted this as a fact of life.

However, this year I decided to see if they were still competitive or whether I could get a better deal.

I phoned around & found little difference - until I spoke to Heritage.

I had a long conversation with Nick Lyons who was extremely helpful & appeared very knowledgeable &, to cut a long story short, arranged insurance cover there & then at ~60% of the renewal quote from RH.

The policy documents arrived (via email) 2 days later together with instructions as to what they needed for the agreed values.

There were a couple of ommisions/mistakes in the schedules - which I pointed out - & 2 days later the amended schedules arrived.

I realise that it's not until you make a claim that you really find out how good any insurance company/policy is but so far I'm very impressed.

I would certainly recommend anyone whose policy is due for renewal to phone them for a comparitive quote (feel free to mention my name - Andy Boyle).

Cheers Andy, will give them a try when I come up for renewal in December. I did have a shop around last year but didn’t end up changing but my policy has crept up a lot in the last few years

Good to know, wish I knew a couple of days earlier!

I just bought a car this week and called around a few places for quotes. Best cover and price I got was with Classic Line who insure other cars for me so stuck with them. I've been using them for over 20 years and always found the service excellent.

Cheers Andy. Just signed up with Heritage saving 26% on my renewal quote (which was up 5% despite my using the car very little in the last year).

I mentioned your name when Nick told me about the refer a friend scheme so there should be £25 winging its way to you...

I too lazily just renew the 911's agreed value policy with Hagerty.
Being a modified car, in the past it was a pain, esp when you say roll cage.
Hagerty actually knew what that was.
If you stayed for years with Heritage, would you be in the same position of paying too much?

Still, worth a request for a quote in the summer for the 911.

You've got nothing to lose by asking them for a quote.

Incidentally my Giulietta Sprint still retains its full rollcage, plastic widows all round (except windscreen), uprated engine, lowered/modified suspension, etc - none of which was a problem.

What do they need Andy?

This has always been the benefit of using RH....(and their premiums, flexibility and ability to deal with them of course)

just 6 good quality pictures showing front/rear/both sides/engine/interior plus your required figure for agreed value.

Assuming you've been realistic, that's it.

They agreed with my figures & amended the schedule for each vehicle stating the agreed values.

No independent specialist or Club written valuations required - couldn't have been easier !

Just out of interest, Hagerty ask for the car pictures and the garage it is to be normally kept in.
My hill climb Lola is also through them, exactly the same requirement as for the 911.

Have to say they are a simple efficient delight to deal with, but never made a claim yet.

+1 For Hagerty, I’ve just switched to them. All of the staff I spoke to on the phones have been exceptional, and beat my old premium by about 20%. Sent my agreed valuation photos across last night along with an independent valuation I’d recently arranged for my previous insurers, had a phone call from them today telling me they think it has a higher value and they are happy to cover for that amount, happy days.

Always great to hear of other people’s good experiences though, I’ll have to give heritage a call to see what they can offer next time.

Up for renewal on the 1st Feb Andy so timely for me and have just given them a call, apparently the 2nd time in the past few days they've had one of your recommendations

I'm currently with ClassicLine who have always been pretty good with agreed valuations, unlimited mileage and track day cover which took me to them in the first instance......I doubt I'll be changing due to the cover I have but certainly worth a call just to make sure they're still competitive.

Many thanks,
