Help needed to locate a 914 door lock right-hand side.

Post by mightyVee »

Any hope of obtaining a complete right-hand door lock for 1973 914 4-cyl Targa? My car is nearing completion and lacks this part. Not concerned about the key or lock mechanism, as the door can be safely secured from inside. I'm English, a retired journalist living now in Slovenia. I will gladly take delivery in the UK, as my son lives near Tring. Please help if you can.

Thanks - David White

A small thing, but I'm looking for 914 replacement windscreen washer heads. They are chrome, sort of egg-shaped, with two outlet jet holes. One only will be a help or a matching pair for preference. Thanks - David W

I think they may still be available from Porsche, well the later black ones anyway. Part number 914 628 203 11, or suffix 10 for the earlier chrome capped ones.

Have you tried Mittlemotor for the door lock?

Thanks for your reply, Steve. I'm going to wait a while longer before trying "the trade",
as their prices tend on the whole to be quite horrific. Perhaps I'm living in a dream world?

Try these guys for chrome washers jets www.oldtimer-ersatzteile24.de - they have an English version site, i think I only paid about £15 for a pair if memory serves me (It was a while ago though).

I think Rose Passion has the cheapest handles but are still about £180. Beware the cheap reproduction ones aren’t good quality.

Thanks for that info. - very helpful. Who are/what is Rose Passion? Is it a company with a website? I've never heard of them but that doesn't mean much, as I am somewhat isolated here in central Europe. D

Rose Passion are a French based parts supplier - I’ve ordered a few things, fast delivery from France and the website has English language option. www.rosepassion.com I think - but google will take you there.
