It's done: My SS 3.2

Post by Alan @ CanfordClassics »

Hi I finally have my SS 3.2 back and in the car. It is still being run in with only 200 miles done since the full rebuild, in fact the entire car has been done.

It is a real “early car” sleeper being built around a 71T shell with no external mods.. more pics to follow.

Motor is a SS 3.2, running Andial S cams, 46 PMOS, 10.3:1 CR new barrels and pistons, boat tailed, mooned, 3.2 oil pump and cooler lines, early SSI exhaust, crank fire ignition.......rebuilt late 915 box with 3.2 cooler and new LSD 40%.

It is still being driven conservatively, but it has lots and lots of power. It just keeps on pulling and sounds fantastic. The S cams are no longer “Peaky” but are progressive and begin to power almost as soon as you hit the pedal. Rolling road/ dyno stats next week.

This car has been 4-5 years in making… I am happy
:) :)

Hi Bazz,

There are still a few bits to finish, but here are a few more. Car is a factory silver LHD 71T that I bought in Alaska (I know.. Alaska) but the shell was very good. Suspension is late 3.2, with new 21/27 torsion bars and late carrera anti roll bars (20/21mm). Standard interior with a few bling bits here and there. Deeps 6s on the front and 7Rs on the rear. It grips like crazy and just a few more 100 miles running in before we set it up properly and see what it can do.

sweet dude!! S is great coming along nicely, done a fair few bits to it mainly cosmetics and detailing, still running very well!! was thinking about lowering the front but it handles so well already but sometimes looks like it need to sit that little bit lower for the right look :)

i bet you have a big grin on your face at the mo especially when the car has run in :P :P

enjoy!!!

Looks great Alan - hope to come down & see it 'in the flesh' in a couple of weeks.

Thanks all.

I look forward to catching up with you all this year. It’s about time I spent more time driving a 911 rather than sat in the garage working on it.

Derek,

The 21/27 combo feels good. I have not had chance to really test it, but it feels sharp and responsive. Feel free to come down and test drive it yourself.

Thanks

Alan

Right, I am off to the DVLA this morning to register it, may just have to take the long route !!
